Description

Architects Paper Drawers – an experiment in interlocking joinery.
The frame uses a three way finger join, each cut is made a fraction of a millimeter larger to apply friction and pressure to the medium density Oregon timber, this locks the join together without glue or nails.
The drawer use a classic dovetail join, the direction of the dovetail locks the front of the drawer in place while opening, the frame locks in the sides – again, no glue or nails. The play drawer base is rebated to the underside, holding the drawer, and ultimately the entire unit, in its square and rigid state.
