Table & rocker.

Built as apprentice furniture and cabinet maker at 16 years of age; recently refinished after 14 years of use at my sister’s house, now being a family of six, the hardwearing two-pack finish had started to fade. The seven-piece back and mirrored rockers are double-curved with oversize laminations for strength, hand finished to achieve the complex curvature. Connections are mortice and tenoned for durability, one join of the splayed back had popped from a hard knock, it held place and resided with some new glue, remarkable given its age.

Little known while making the pieces, they are slowly becoming a timeless asset to our family, I look forward to refinishing again in the next generation.
