Writing table.

A table for writing. Built from Australian rose wood and dark teak. Inspired by some interior spaces experienced in Japan.

The rosewood slabs were harvested in Gippsland and acquired from private stocks. Book matched and machined to 75mm pieces, a natural bow arising to one end allowed for a step shelf to the approaching end. Legs and rails of dark teak were salvaged from a 1930s era dining table, bringing stories embedded within its grain and an elegant classical form turned into feature ‘feet’ grounding the solid table top.
